I remember when I started posting my games to NG almost 10 years ago. Those were the day! It was back when the flash games market was still flourishing, and even though I didn't have a lot of experience in game design, I managed to make thousands of dollars for my games! I can't help but think that if I had as much experience back then as I do now, I would be rich, haha! But still, it was a great learning experience, and it definitely gave me the confidence I needed to keep practicing. Now I'm working on more "serious" indie games, including Krankenheit, a first person shooter inspired by titles such as Quake I & II, Shogo, SiN, etc. By the way, you can follow me on twitter at @melloland if you'd like to see more!
It wouldn't be a stretch to say Newgrounds played a huge part in making me grow as a game developer, and as an individual too! Even after I quit making flash games, Tom Fulp remained a huge inspiration for me. I met the dude at PAX East 2015 where he held the "No Indie is an Island" panel, and even though it was a bit awkward for me (I'm not even used to speak english on a daily basis, let alone trying to have a coherent discourse with a celebrity), it was a great moment for me to be able to even just exchange a few words with the guy.

I don't use Newgrounds nearly as much as I used to, but it still remains in my heart, as cheesy as it may sound. Not many websites can say they've been around for two decades and are still going strong. With that said, I don't exclude the possibility that I might post a game or three in the future, thanks to the support of html5 games. Even though Newgrounds is now only a shadow of its former self, I'll always cherish the memories of rating flash cartoons and games late at night, and reading the user's comments on my own.
